Mirror In China Classic Novel

Mirror, as a unique subject, from a long time ago, be part of human life. The wonderful metaphor which it brings present in myth, legend, novel, story and poetry.Narcissism-as one of most important basic concept of psychoanalysis-is connected with a story of mirror. In the early idea of lacan, it hold an important position. We can say, besides "mirror phase" refer the mirror directly, the whole concept of imaginary is based on mirror.Surely, in china classic novel, there are a lot of mirrors. In these novels, would mirror perform the same function and play the same role of same metaphor just like they do in western literatures? This is subject we concerned in this paper.We will try to use psychoanalytic theory to review the mirror in china classic novel and try to classify it in different group. Also, we shall do much more analysis to some unique case. The purpose we write is, on the one hand, sort some functions of mirror in china classic novel and compare it with western ones, by this, we may find unconsciously how a Chinese treat mirror and the direction of metaphor of mirror. On another hand, through this compare, we may integrate western psychoanalytic theory and tech with Chinese traditional culture in a better way.
