Study On Language Skill In Jin Xuetie's Novels

Jin Xue Tie was an outstanding anti-Japanese fighter and litterateur of the Korean nation.This thesis tries to break through the boundary of existing literature, mainly introduces the language skills in Jin Xue Tie's novels based upon The Era of Passion.Jin Xue Tie spent his childhood and youth in Korea. Later he went to China, Japan and some other countries for his country's independence and national liberation. His experience in these East-Asian countries not only made him fluent in Japanese, Chinese and English basing on his mother tongue, but also gave him opportunities to form his own unique ideas in literature and language style. He learned from world literature and strongly influenced by Korean and Chinese literature, especially by those famous litterateur, such as Beok-Cho Hong Myeong-Hee and Lu Xun. He was convinced of the advantage of his mother tongue and threw all his energy into the work of improving the expressive force of his mother tongue.His rich experience and knowledge, as well as his excellent use of the rustic Korean language made him a model in improving novel's descriptions and portraying character's personality through dramatic dialogue. He used countless brand-new metaphors, which managed to give readers new feelings. In particular, he used all kinds of rhetoric freely, which improved the force of expression and appeal of the Korean literary language.Learning from Korean Pansori-style novels and Beok-Cho Hong Myeong-Hee literature, Jin Xue Tie created an multi-feature narrative structure and showed new skills of expressing humor and portraying character's personality through episodes and stories. At the same time, he reasonably used humor andsatire according to character's personality. His humor and satire were not cynical philosophy of life, but were shown in a higher level of ethic and aesthetics, which made it more elegant and graceful. In other words, his humor and satire completely served the purpose of improving human beings.To sum up, we think that Jin Xue Tie, following Beok-Cho Hong Myeong-Hee, was a master of language who made great contributions to enriching the Korean literature and language.
