This thesis is aimed at studying Krashen's Input Hypothesis and its effect on college English teaching in China.Input Hypothesis has a strong influence on second language acquisition (SLA) and has many implications in college English teaching in China. In this paper, Input Hypothesis is introduced thoroughly and its successful applications such as "immersion education" are presented to prove its effectiveness. Then a survey of input is carried out in classroom practice and the data got from the investigation are analyzed and some optimal inputs are suggested. Finally the conclusion is drawn that Input Hypothesis should be made use of more effectively, which will undoubtedly improve English teaching in China. |
