Travel business in China has grow rapidly since the Economic Reform. Chinese people have started pursuing colorful life styles since average personal income of Chinese family is increasing every year. Travel vacation is becoming a top choice. But on the other side no varied traveling-symbols in interesting places have been developed in China, especially compared to developed countries. This has limited our capabilities in international competition.Traveling-symbol is playing a very important role both in those interesting places and even the development of China Economy. Hotel business and travel agency business have business symbols since moving into a relatively mature phase. However, there is a lagging for the applied traveling-symbols. Developing traveling-symbol is obviously necessary in a timely manner.This article is focused on analyzing the relationship between region culture and traveling-symbol and aimed at how to design successful traveling-symbol, which requires designers to have better understanding of region culture and historical background. The Author summarized the contents of region culture, which includes history, folk custom, religion, and architecture in this article and explain how to design traveling-symbol in shape, meaning and momentum by case analysis.
