Overthrow Of "Proposition" And Loss Of "Certainty"

This essay tries to show anti-traditional Philosophy of Wittgensteinthrough Philosophy of Mathematics. "Proposition"and "Certainty"arecentral conceptions of Philosophy of Wittgenstein. On one hand, with the helpof conception of "Proposition"Wittgenstein established the frame ofTractatus Logico-Philosophicus in his early time; on the other hand, with thehelp of key question of "Certainty and Uncertainty", he developed his laterthoughts. In Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, "Proposition"is the centralpart of words that could be said, which connected double issues of "speaking"and "silence". In order to fulfill this issue, we always believe that weshould to say by proposition, which gave our "Understanding"of the areasthat could not express by language, in the meaning of Wittgenstein, which areareas of Ethic and Philosophy itself. Because of Logic of Mathematics,scholars of England and America explain and understand TractatusLogico-Philosophicus with proposition, which is the normal way of researchin early philosophy of Wittgenstein. Actually, TractatusLogico-Philosophicus took advantage of modern logic of mathematics, and alsofollowed the fundamental task of traditional analytical philosophy that wenamed it analysis of proposition. In this way this book was provided withtraditional elements, which embodied accurate analysis, certain expressionand hypothesis of priori-cognition. With the development of Logic andmathematics and philosophers'interrogation, Logic lost its priority,Proposition overthrew, the certainty pursued by Philosophy and mathematicsalso bankrupted. In deeper investigation of mathematics, Wittgenstein had newideas of Mathematics and Philosophy. He abandoned idea of eternal truth andbelieved that mathematics can no more keep its certainty. In the meanwhile,he protested that Philosophy should be divorced from traditional form ofMathematics and Science and actualize its "Responsibility"independently.This is the standpoint that argued against traditional Metaphysics thoroughly.Wittgenstein considered that Philosophy should returned and planted in theeveryday language. Philosophy were an activity and a "foreordination"ofmankind, whose function is a kind of therapy. Human beings always fought withsickness of Reason, but we can not cure it as it is one part of thoughts ofmankind, namely, one part of activity of human language. Because of that,Philosophy did not die, it shows itself in everyday language ceaselessly.
