The dissertation discusses "buylding" from various perspectives such as grammatical character, syntactic position, semantic features and the function of textual cohesion. There are five main parts in this article. First, the category of "buylding". It has been looked as a phrase by most grammar books, but after examples analysis, it has been determined as modality phrase-word between words and phrases. According to the relative theory, it is given some new viewpoints about word-class-diving. Second, the syntactic position of "buylding". "buylding" has very agile syntactic position. It can be located in the first, middles last of one sentence, and it can even be used singly. It is also different in different sentence type distribution. It has more discussion on the reason which it can be used singly from this article. Third, the semantic features of "buyi ding". "buylding" figures the speaker is unsure of certain situation or certain thing, and sometimes its explanation inclines to negative. It also has the function of evidentiality and modality. Fourth, the comparison of "buylding" and "shuobuding" and "buding". In this article, it has two each comparisons from syntax and semantics. From the comparison of three points, it has more clear definition about the function of syntax and semantics of "buylding". Fifth, "buylding" and textual cohesion. "buyi ding" can cohere with texts ,also can be used link with modality adverb, and composes book which has internality relativity.
