Marriage and family are the products of social development in a certain stage, based on the objective need of social development, and the social form of human two sexes combination and consanguinity corresponding to the productive and living styles in a certain society. Marriage and family are a special form of the social relationship, a particular associating and communicating style among different persons, which is the broadest and most common social relationship in human society from its being.Due to different ethnic characteristic and geographic features, the evolution of Chinese marriage and family gets its difference and distinctiveness. The great changes in some aspects, such as politics, economy, psychology and culture etc, result in the corresponding changes of marriage and family in modern times, so it shows a modernizing characteristic, marriage and family in different stages get different forms. Hunan Province is widely spread in the inner part of China, its transport system is limited and dense rate of population is relatively low, while in modern times, Hunan belongs to the leading level in such aspects as politics, ideology and culture etc in China, so its marriage and family gets its own Characteristics.
