XingShi Yin Yuan Zhuan (also known as XinShi Love Stories)is a full-length novel, number of words between JinPingMei andDreams of Red Mansions. It was basically describing lives takenfrom realities of its time, about a revenge in marriage life betweentwo generations. This novel was written in ShanDong dialect, inwhich it provides us a vivid, abundant and valuable material ofresearch on the subtlety of the northern dialect used during theMing and Qing Dynasty.As numbers of researches on XingShi Yin Yuan Zhuan havebeen carried out without a verdict of conclusion on either who wasthe author of the novel, the era of completion and the basiclinguistic structure contain therein, rooms and possibilities areopened for continuous study.This thesis adopted a researched angle on the phoneticsstudies. Vowels, consonants, accents and elements of phoneticelements were successfully summarized through concise andsystematic approaches. Thereupon confirming the fundamentalphonetic system of XingShi Yin Yuan Zhuan and adding to a widerperspective angle to the entire research studies of XingShi YinYuan Zhuan.Six chapters were included.Chapter one was an introduction.Two sections, section one was a review on the previousstudies of XingShi Yin Yuan Zhuan, and listing the limitations ofthe previous. Section two was the research methodology.
