The Comparative Research Between The Romance Of The Three Kingdoms And Lizicheng

The novels The Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Lizichengare both characterized as historical romance. The former is the first one of this style,about 500 years earlier than the latter.However, both of them share some commonners- the latter being the afterlife of the former of style. We may be able to find something identical and different by means of comparision,in order to probe into the connotatation of the two novels.This article proceeds from the perspectives of style, creative idea, characterization, warfare description, linguistic art,and so on.It attempts to grasp the works from the macro point of views, focusing on not only the successional but also the developmental traits among them.At present,people pay more attention to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms than Lizicheng. Without consideration of the political backgrounds, there is really much weakness in the latter novels. This paper argues that literary works with the same style are endowed with progressiveness and epochal characters. Then we can probably realize how to deal with the unsoudness and defects in them beyond the historical horizon.
