In 16th—18th century, lots of Europeans came into China; Guangzhou was the only port in feudalistic times and it was a seedbed of cultural communication between orient and west, consequently it was the most important stage for foreign traders, travelers, envoys and missionaries enter into China. The Europeans who lived in Guangzhou, investigated and recorded Guangzhou in different sides, the content refer to such as Guangdong' s geography, resource, biology, traffic, polity, city-construct, medical treatment and custom and so on. They contacted different people, officers, civilians and scholars, they recorded their experience in their own way, and some information has not appeared in Chinese historical literature. So it is an indispensably data to know China in that age. The dissertation is including four parts: city-construct, politics administration, external trade and local custom.
