Academic Case Of Mencius In Northern Song Dynasty

Mencius is one of the outstanding thinkers of China, playing a role of teacher as Confucius in Chinese enlightenment. It is very important to study the academic case of Mencius.Mencius has unique status in the history of Chinese thought. In early time, his social and cultural status is as same as the other scholars in the pre-qin, but the Situation had changed in the Northern Song Dynasty: Mencius entered the Confucian Temple, and his works became one of the thirteen classics. But it wasn't involved in the recent research. The article aims at describing the Mencius Academic case of Northern Song Dynasty, mainly including two parts:The first chapter represents the value of the thesis and introduces recent academic achievements and shortcoming. At the same time, this part focus on giving a overall introduction of the situation of Mencius study.The second chapter is the foundation of this article, it consists of twenty-eight cases of the scholars who have the works of Mencius. These cases include not only the brief introduction of the scholars and their academic achievements, but also the documents of Mencius Academic History.
