Kou Zhun was a special one among the poets of "Genre of Late Tang" in the early Song Dynasty. His poetry deserves to study because of his political position. This thesis is divided into six parts altogether. The author plans to solve four problems especially.First part introduces Kou Zhun's life, the concentrating and the spreading of his poems. Kou Zhun was not only a famous official, but also a good poet. He was a representative poet of "Genre of Late Tang" in early Song Dynasty; also, he was associated with many famous poets at that time, such as Wang Yucheng, Yang Yi and Zhang Yong. In history, there are mainly two kinds of collections of Kou Zhun's poems. They are The Collection of Badong ( 《巴东集》 ) and the collection of poems which arranged by Fan Yong. Through analyzing the relevant record synthetically, we can confirm that The Collection of Badong ( 《巴东集》 ) had already absorbed by the collection of poems which arranged by Fan Yong totally. The second, third and fourth parts study the change in Kou Zhun's poetic style. Former scholars mostly thought his style was "sad and elegant". In fact, his poetic style was changing during decades, which was closely linked to his political life. The second part studies his poetic style in early stage when he was not more than 28 years old. During this period, his living environment was very abominable and his mind was very depressed. He created pre-Tang poetry and LvShi mainly, which was "dreary and bleak" . Some poets frankly expressed his feelings. The third part studies his poetic style in middle period which was from 28 years old to 46 years old. During this period, Kou Zhun's political life was relatively calm, though there were some regrets. His minds had changed greatly and he was not so dejected and depressed as it was in early stage. He created large amount of JueJu poets, which overwhelmed the pre-Tang poetry and LvShi. The poetic style was "sad and elegant" .The fourth part studies his poetic style in late stage, which was from 46 years old to 65 years old. On going through many setbacks, his attitude towards setback was very calmly. During this period, his poetic style followed the former style on the whole; meanwhile, it had a style of idleness. The communicated poem increased; theyperfectly conveyed poem's emotional excitement and reflections to us.The fifth part studies the relation between Kou Zhun and "Genre of Late Tang" in the early Song Dynasty. Though Kou Zhun was a representative poet of " Genre of Late Tang" , his poems didn't belong to "Genre of Late Tang" totally. This part explains the fact that Kou Zhun's poems absorbed and developed the poetic style of Late Tang, especially Yao He and Jia Dao's; and describes his break-through over them. The Influence embodied in laborious versifying, opting WuLv mainly and narrow JingJie. The break-through embodied in two aspects. First, some of his poems got rid of the inclination to neglect the whole; secondly, Kou Zhun was not only good at WuLv but also good at QiJue.The sixth part describes the response of Kou Zhun's poems after his death. In the early years of Southern Song Dynasty, a burst of concerning Kou Zhun's poems rose in. Some famous persons, such as Wang Shipeng and Lu You thought highly of his poems. This phenomenon was a result of an intensified national contradiction between Song dynasty and Jin dynasty. In addition, we will give a fully analysis to Xin Xiao' view that Kou Zhun was not famous in literature because of his highly achievement on politics.
