In recent years Yan Lanke'novels have been followed with great interest by the readers ana the related critics. It's not only because the novels adopt the narrative techniques and narrative tactics successfully, but also they reveal the peasant misery and show great respect to the humanity. All of them consist of the novels' unique narrative manner and esthetical characteristics. This paper takes the comprehensive narratologies theories which include the classical narratologies and the postclassical narratologies as its critical perspectives and analytical patterns. Aiming at the novel text the dissertation makes a detailed analysis as follows:Chapter One: Prologue. Introduce briefly the creation and research status quo of Yan Lianke's novels. Then expound the feasibility and the significance of studying the novels according to the narratologies theories.Chapter Two: Discuss and analyze respectively the use of the related narrative rhetoric types including voice, distance and perspective combining with the particular contents in the novels. Then through exploring the representation of the narrative rhetoric with demonstrations in the novels to validate the systematicness and scientificness of the three types mentioned above.Chapter Three: Firstly discuss the narrative tactics in the novels, including the control of the narrative rhythm and the application of the three voice patterns. The conclusion of this analysis is that the narrative manner in the novels is determined to a great extend by the two constituents; Secondly discuss the way in which the novels adjust the narrative distance through the different expressive patterns of the character discourse so as to show the relationship between the narrator (and narratee) and narrative objects.Chapter Four: Discuss in detail the characteristics of the narrative manner and the narrative structure in the novels. The application of the allegoric manner and the chimerical manner makes the novels not only be tinged with the fantastic-magic esthetical color, but have the function to reveal the profound themes, which make the novels reach a quite high artistic level. As to the narrative structure the author has gradually changed his narration pattern from the singularity to the combination of multi-clues and the diversification of the narration time, which greatly widen the novels' esthetical space.Chapter Five: Explore the novels' textual meanings and themes. It's regarded that the profound themes of the novels are shown in two aspects: one is the revelation of the agrarian culture; the other is the pursuit of life's meaning. The connotations of the two themes enrich the implications of the novel textual forms.Chapter Six: Conclusion. Discuss the plight and perplexity caused by the combination of western literature theories and Chinese modern literature study. This kind of apprehension which isn't actually overstated makes the research value of the paper somewhat questioned. However, the paper considers that the aim of expatiation isn't to make a value judgement of either this or that, but to demonstrate the possibility of the existence of the abundant novel textual forms.
