Comparison In Chinese And Vietnamese Idioms

Idioms are the important part of a language which came into being after long-time usage. They possess the characters of fixed structure, concision and pointed meaning. At the same time, the idioms have the abilities of very strong generalization and representation. They also have vivid image, deep moral and meaningful aroma.Contrastive study between Chinese and Vietnamese idioms has theortical value as well as applied value. Although there have been many correlative researches which are mostly carried out from the point of culture difference, the works of contrasting Chinese and Vietnamese idioms purely from the point of linguistics are not many. This paper pays particular attention to the contrast between Chinese and Vietnamese idioms from the angle of linguistics and dicusses the characters of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms. Besides, there are variants in the structure of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms.Chapter â…¢: The contrast of the syntax strcture and syntactic function between Chinese and Vietnamese idioms. The main relations in the inner structure of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms are coordinate, attributive, subject-predicate and verb-object etc. Both Chinese and Vietnamese idioms can act as subject, predicate, object, attribute and adverbial modifier, etc...Chapter â…£: The contrast of rhetorical specialitis between Chinese and Vietnamese idioms. This part briefly discusses the common figures of speech in Chinese and Vietnamese idioms from semantic and structure. In addition the contrast of national features between Chinese and Vietnamese idioms is carried out which takes comparison for example.
