Didlogue Across The Time And Space

In the Chinese literatural history, Scholars and Fortress Besieged are often studied by comparing them for the similarity in the aesthetic feature and range of subjects . However, people usually contrast them from one point and are accustomed to judging which is better. This paper attempts to study the two novels by comparing the artistic manner of the author , the gist of the article, the aesthetic feature and the composition character. By comparing them , we will find that the two novel both study the life with the rational manner but the result is different. Scholars not only has criticized the imperial examination system and the bad general mood of society, but also has found the way of delivering society and the direct of intellectual. With the influence of westen skepticism, existic-ism and pessimism , Fortress Besieged has researched the corruption of normal human feelings and the difficult position of the human. In spite of the difference in satiring object and narrating methods between Scholars and Fortress Besieged, they are both the model of satiring fictions. They have both formed the tragicomic aesthetic feature , but the comic factors inFortress Besieged are more abundant than in Scholars. The structure of them is different, but the knowledge about the function of structure is the same. In a word, the two fictions are alike in many respects, but they are different because of the changing of time and space. Having absorbed the achievements of traditional and modern culture , Fortress Besieged is more rich and profound. However, we can not judge which is better on the basis of fixed standard.
