Space concept is one of the most basic but important concepts. The nuclear meaning of space concept often maps into other abstract concept metaphorically, and this is common phenomenon in span language. Because of the differences of culture backgrounds and cognitive styles between nations, there are also many differences in space metaphor concept system. This paper is aiming at discussing how Korean Chinese space function words (postposition/preposition) expanded the nuclear meaning (image schema) of space concept into other non-space domain, and how to find the differences and similarities between metaphor of space concept.The thesis covers six chapters. Chapter one reviews the research in this area at home and abroad, and r aises the research purpose, range, research method and the significance. Chapter two states about metaphor of starting point concept. It discusses mainly about the Korean delimiter and its compound form"- " and the metaphor of the Chinese preposition "从", whose target domain are time, evidence, reason, material, sequence, etc. Chapter three discusses about the metaphor of reference position concept. It studies the metaphor of postposition"" and Chinese preposition"在1", whose target domain are time, object, condition, reason, proportion, etc. Chapter four states about the metaphor of activity place concept. " " is mainly used in Korean to express activity place, but in Chinese " 在 2" is used. Their target domain are time, range (aspect) etc. chapter five discusses about the metaphor of departure point concept. It studies Korean delimiter "" and Chinese preposition " 到" .which are the metaphor expressing departure point. And the target domain are t ime a nd 1imit o f e xtent, e tc. Chapter s ix s tates a bout the m etaphor o f directing concept. It discusses in detail the metaphor of postposition "" and Chinese preposition "朝/向/往" . And the target domains include time, object, change, etc. The final part concludes the whole article.
