Outlaws of the Marsh is the famous saga novel in our country with the theme of peasant uprising. It is not only looked upon as the treasure on the history of literature, but also regarded as the significant literature datum for us to research modern Chinese language. The novel possessing more than 1000 passive sentences has rich language materials and diversified shapes. In a certain extent, the passive sentences in Outlaws of the Marsh open out a full view of those in modern Chinese language. This original directed by the three-plane theory carries on ration and qualitative analysis to these passive sentences. The author elaborates the structure and semantic feature of its component in details, focuses on the analyses of some particular phenomena, and sums up the sentence pattern on this basis. Moreover this thesis reveals the pragmatics features of the passive sentences by making an inquiry into its pragmatics colour and pragmatics environment. After synchronic study, the author continues to do diachronic study to search the source of the passive sentences in Outlaws of the Marsh, which comprehensively shows the generality and personality features of these passive sentences.
