Abstract/Summary:
Liu Yu Xi suffered from being banished several times during his official career, especially in the period of Yong Zhen Reform, which deeply affected him and his literary creation. He was on the top of his literary career during the banishment time. His works affected by his mood then was characterised by the following points. First, the passion revealed in his works broke through those traditional banishment literatures. Second, the philosophy in his words left the readers profound thinking. Third, the brand new content and expressing style made his poems refreshing and natural. In his later years after banishment, he led a leisared life in LuoYang and he was still concerned about the social reality. But the style of his poems proved a little different. First, the languages he used to reflect the political fight were ambiguous and roundabout. Second, his works showed his young heart and enthusiasm for politics although he was in old age .In short, Liu Yu Xi, as one of the outstanding poets in the middle of Tang Dynasty, had profound influences on Ae later generations, in the respect of personality character, theory of poetry, study of folk songs and creative experience.
