Based on the analysis to Wo Longsheng's novels of chivalry and contrast with other chivalric novel writings, this thesis elaborates the uniqueness of his novels in conducting the traditional culture and modern culture. Studying from this perspective, the historic value of his novels and their enlightening significance to modem chivalric novel writings will be highlighted.Starting from the cultural perspective, this thesis focuses on three aspects of his novels: the writing dilemma between Chinese traditional chivalric ethics and modern chivalric writing models; the antagonism between feminine subjectivity and traditional ethics; the inheritance and innovation in novel narrative models, etc. On the aspect ofnarrative models, besides using the traditional models of tactics descriptions--striving for hegemony, taking a revenge, contending for treasures, etc., he creates the detective chivalric novel writing model, which makes perfect demonstration of multi-clues radiation layout featuring oddness and quirkiness. Through analyzing and summing-up, this thesis demonstrates the antagonistic and perplexed state between traditional culture and modern culture in his novels and ascertains the cultural connotation of his novels. Meanwhile, this thesis analyzes the causes of his novels' merits and flaws and the reasons of his novels' salability between the writer's supplying and the readers 'fetching. The significance of this thesis in summarizing his novels' merits and flaws lies in inspiring the ensuing writings.
