| Intellectuals, since the founding of our People's Republic, have experienced the recognition and commitment in the "early spring", the consistent forgiveness and devotion after the regaining which followed the "Great Cultural Revolution" and the agreement under no alternative with material basic, official basic and power basic in the material wave of 1990's. Intellectuals in literary works have deep contradiction between marriage and love. It seems on the surface that the outer forces cause the conflicts concerning intellectuals between two sexes. But in nature, it is the certain reflect of self-contradictions in the depth of intellectuals' soul, that is, the compromise between satisfaction of plainness and limitless blessing; the contradiction between the Confucian beliefs of "cultivating oneself, managing a family, administering a country and redress the world", and the great ideal of "not being officials " and "delivering the people". In metaphysical world, intellectuals can talk about "Xuan" and "Dao", while in actual world, they have to worry about their living. Intellectuals use their consistent Confucian beliefs to cover different "bureaucrats", by which they, themselves, are covered. "Bureaucrats" are changing, while intellectuals are still, so the inadequate knowledge is devaluating. At last, they can only work as "slaves" and have no way out. For this reason, the enlightenment of Chinese intellectuals should be done in the following ways.In the loving literature of 1950's, 1980's and 1990's, the image of modern intellectuals is deprived of the modern pursuit that was treasured aslives by the older generations. What they pay much attention to is the intellectuals' attitudes displayed in revolution, doctrine and material level. They often design inconsistent marriage forms concerning intellectuals, which are always in fierce conflicts. It seems on the surface that the situation of that time forced intellectuals to respond, but in fact, their conflicts originated from the contradiction between one's inner part and extra part, and between suppressing and refusing materials and needing necessities. After, experiencing the self-recognition, moral recognition and emotional recognition in the process of revolution, popularity and economic wave, they are not really freed. The image of intellectuals has changed from honest and lofty, sticking to the belief, holding the spirit and criticizing pursuing things to coward and weak, giving up belief and pursuing nothing; from the person model of social enlightenment to the persons of lowest status educated by . labor; from having the right of speech to being deprived of this right; from regarding money as no more than muck to respecting dollars. Whether the couples are intellectuals or connected with intellectuals, their marriages are not happy. If we consider a couple as a pair of wings, one partner of an intellectual couple must "wound his wing", so their love and marriages end in tragedy.To welcome new China, Chinese people under the lead of Mao Zedong devoted their flesh and blood to it, but under such circumstance, intellectuals didn't show the same value and living pursuit. They saw the approaching revolution and their dreams in a completely different way, which led to the conflicts between lovers or couple In the end of these conflicts , the revolutionaries got bright futures, while the others were refuted completely.The newly established China gave all Chinese people opportunities, including intellectuals who came to the "Sunny" place together. The first present brought by new China to intellectuals is reform, eliminating all their differences from the common labor people. So, what is accompanied with new China is the reform fortune of Chinese intellectuals. They, who once had modem mind and followed by many respecting persons, became "virgins", but few of them questioned or protested this situation.
