The main reasons including:â‘ Reasonal analyzing and spreading the reasonal persons in the Enlightenment .â‘¡The religious faith and the Puritanical thoughts permeating the novels.â‘¢Holding the decisive role to the rising of British realistic novel.Basing on the above reasons,this thesis,which takes the comparative analysis method with the view of cultural study,divides into four parts to comb and comprehense the relations between Defoe's novels and the western traditional culture.The first part being the whole thesis guiding view lies on the effect of the British culture from the Enlightenment,summarises the relations between the novels and the culture,the times background of Defoe's novels and the cultural features shown in the novels.The second part reveals the culture of Defoe's novels from the behavious aesthetic of human beings and religious faith.The third part makes a comprehensive survey to the difference of Defoe's novels and the prose fiction before the 18th century,and then analyses the creation of the traditional writing.The last part exploits the civil and hopeful spirits of Defoe's novels from the comparison,and sees inside the cultural value in the western navigation novels. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Defoe's Novels, Man's Culture, Religion, Tradition, Comparison | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
