Bachelard's reverie theories have many highly meanings and spirit value. Its background is duality philosophy that is composed of epistemology of science and imagination philosophy. In the epistemology of science, The thought of discontinuity and instant intuition directly affects Bachelard's reverie theories. In the imagination philosophy, Bachelard reestablishes the relation between the imagination and the perception through the ontology of the poetic image, ie. the imagination precedes our perception of reality. At the same time, he brings up a new metaphysics of reverie-- I dream the world, therefore, the world exists as I dream it, which is called "The Copernican Revolution of the Imagination".At first, Bachelard probed into the problem of the reverie from the thinking mode of subject-object dichotomy. With the purpose of studying the non-rationalism tendency of the objective knowledge and discarding the subjective reverie's influence upon the objective thought, he began to use Jung's collectively unconscious theories to analyze the primordial image of Fire, Water, Air and Earth for reference. At the same time, he studied the substantial tendency of the reverie through analyzing the relation between the four primordial images and unconsciousness of the revereie. After discovering the image ontology, Bachelard gradually discovered the problem of his method, so he changed his objective rational analysis to subjective intuition analysis. He used Hussel's method of phenomenology and Minkowski's phenomenology psychology to explore the pure introversion of the reverie by analysizing the relation between the poetry image and reverie consciousness.Bachelard studied the reverie is not only to establish the metaphysics of the reverie, but also to inquire into the ontology of human existence. He put forword a highly value clue, that is, falling into the Anima' reverie to read, so that we can feel the existence of freedom. Anima's Reverie is a principle of phenomenological reading psychology. It has special meanings for phenomenological reading. Firstly, it is important for reader to participate in the text with a calm, misty and happy concious. Secondly, reverie reading regards image noumenon as the core. Thirdly, it is important to pay attention to the intentional and writer's experience modes. But it is regrettable that the thought of phenomenological reading has apriority.Bachelard's reverie is an ontology of subject-object fusion, may be called onenss of heavean and man. To a certain degree, it is a free aesthetic consciousness, which transcends subject-object dichotomy and reaches a broad mind and a lofty, free realm. In the whole, Bachelard's reverie theories provide us with a new thinking mode of trandscending the traditional rationalism, and what is more, they establish a new esthetics principal and provide enlightenment on the poetics methodology.
