| As the founder of modem Polish music, Szymanowski is the most important representative figure in the Polish music creation field of the early 20th century. Created in 1916, the "First Violin Concerto" was a symbolic work in the medium term of his creation. Since the 20th of the last century, this work was frequently performed in the western world, and was selected as the repertoire by many great violinists, thus it became one of the most classical violin concertos. The studies on Szymanowski are commonly descriptions of his life experience and overall looks on his creation internationally, while very few have concentrated on any of his work. On the basis of exposing the various influences on this work, such as the influences of the social culture and historical environment in the late 19th century and early 20th century, and of his life experiences with his creation concepts, this dissertation tries to probe on mu|ti aspects into the reason for people's favor for this work by way of musicological analysis on the "First Violin Concerto".This dissertation consists of three parts. The first part is the general description of the international and domestic achievements of the studies on Szymanowski, followed by the narration of the intention for this writing. The second part recounts the historical and cultural environment of the Polish society during the alternation of the 19th and the 20th century, and depicts the living slot and the contrail of four periods of his creation, in order to let emerge the effect his life experience and the changing of environment brought to his creation concept and style. The kernel of this dissertation is the third part, which narrates and analyses in detail the "First Violin Concerto" on the four aspects as "the process of creation", "several elements referring to the mental and emotional connotation of this work", "musical technical analysis based on the style investigation", and the "conclusion". In the second and the third aspects lies the emphasis of this chapter. In the "several elements referring to the mental and emotionalconnotation of this work", the author discourses on macroscopic cultural visual angle the relation between the work and the poem of the "Youth Polish", the influences brought by the First World War, the oriental elements contained in the work, and the abundant, contradicted emotion incarnated by the work with the aesthetic concept of the amalgamation of the Impressionism and the late Romanticism. As a superficial compositional technique reflects the artist's idea in music style and the deep connotation in his emotion and thought, through the "musical technical analysis based on the style investigation", the author dissects and analyze on the stylistic angle the various musical techniques and expressions: free and unfettered musical structure and rhythm blows the poetic free wind; the high register melody of Arabian pattern style and the two paragraphs with foreign sentiment spreads the mysterious oriental aroma; the modern harmonic morpheme of the 20th century, the Impressionism and the late Romanticism orchestration with the charming slimness and largo and lyricist melody together express the combination of imaginative fantasy and fervent enthusiasm. In the "conclusion", the author reviews the prestige status the "First Violin Concerto" occupies in the music history of the early 20th century. The author derives the conclusion at last: Its rich cultural connotation, elegant charming fantasy and fervent enthusiasm expressed by its amalgamation of various musical styles, and its creative, novel musical language all devoted to people's fascination for this work till present. |
