The Evolution Of The Structure Np'de'VP In Contemporary Chinese

In as early as the initial researching stage of Chinese grammar, some grammarians has paid much attention to the structure of NP de VP. However, in what is usually termed as NP de W in grammar research field, W are mostly noun-verb, for instance, '这本书的出版' '语法的研究'and so on. This thesis has no intention of exploring this structure in its usual sense, but rather endeavors to study the structure of NP de W in which-the VP is complicated. Syntactically W is subject--predicate structure, and formally it is noun structure, too. By exploring the achievements of the past and contemporary, the author attempts to study NP de VP from the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic dimensions, and to explore the relationship between contemporary Chinese and Classic Chinese in terms of NP de VP. The emphasis is put upon the explanation of the motivations of the change of NP de VP in contemporary Chinese of nearly a century.
