| Baopuzi, during the learning history, seems to be an embarrassing document, for its containing the thoughts of Confucianism and Taoism which are always contradictory in most literature viewpoint. As a result, researchers are often plunged into a dilemma when they are trying to make a decision to Ge Hong' s thoughts belonging to. However, if we view them in the cultural principle of open nor conservation, complementary nor exclusivity, pluralism nor monism, every embarrassing will not be exist.It is easy to comprehend Ge Hong' s thinking trace when we study his thoughts with the method of cultural anthropology: on the standpoint of Taoist religion, Ge Hong choiced thoughts from Taoism and Confucianism to establish his deity theory; on the Confucian standpoint, he single out useful ideas from Taoism and Faism to run the country well.We not only can come to a conclusion that the thinkers in Jin dynasty had a stronger comprehension about the function and specific property of these two kinds of culture, but also can peer the new tendency of Taoism and Confucianism in this period.This paper is composed of four chapters. The first chapter is about Ge Hong' s experience which influenced the formation of his thoughts, and, the relations between the thoughts and the written-time of Baopuzi, including two sections. The second chapter elaborates Ge Hong' s Taoian thoughts, including three sections. The third chapter elaborates his Confucian thoughts, including two sections. The fourth chapter is about the relationship of his Taoian thoughts to his Confucian thoughts, besides, in which the reason that Ge Hong' s such ideas coming to being was elaborated, including two sections. |
