From late 70s and early 80s of the 20th century, China have been going on the important social reform. With the process of social reform, Christian churches have gotten a great revival in China. Are there any relations between the two phenomena? How are the churches going on? Why do so many Chinese people not believe in traditional religion but Christianity? What is the ethos of Chinese Christians?Based on field investigation data and accorded to the latest religious sociology methods, this thesis sums up three conclusions:1.Behind the fact that Christianity becomes the most expeditiously growing religion in China, and in general speaking it is commingled with traditional Chinese religious idea, the writer find there a religious paradigm shift has taken place among Chinese people, and have gotten its momentum to them. This paradigm shift manifests as from polytheism or fetishism to monotheism, from defused religion to synagogical religion, and from magic religion to soteriological religion.2. In many churches and believers units, some kind of homogeneous attributes, natural or social, are easy to be found, such as in age, in sex, in career, and in literate degree. This thesis focuses on Martha-phenomenon, and its social causation, and its praxis meaning.3. Along with the social reform has been going on, some new characters would be developed in Chinese churches. Forasmuch the evidences emerged: housechurches grow more speeded; more and more literate take part in the churches; more and more urban churches are growing; the writer tried to point out that Chinese churches would not be united, but multivariate.
