On The Views Of Song Dynasty's Scholars About Tao Yuanming And The Classicization Of Tao's Poetry

Tao Yuanming is one of the most great poets in the literature history of our country, but his works were ignored by the people of the contemporary era. He was admired just because of his moral character. In Tang dynasty, people began to pay attention to Tao' s works, although they didn' t have deep comprehension on them. The name as a classic of Tao' s works didn' t be established till Song dynasty. By the esteeming of Su Shi and admitting of the Song dynasty' s people, Tao Yuanming became one of the most beloved poets. Why Tao' s classic status was established just in Song dynasty? What point was Su Shi' s explanation? What point was the reception of the Song dynasty' s people? What are the internal factors about all? There are mainly three sections in discussing these questions in this paper.1. The people of Song dynasty' s reception to Tao. In this section, the writer analysed the thoughts of Confucianism and Taoism in Tao' s works and how the Song dynasty' s people received Tao and his works from the thoughts of Confucianism and Taoism.2. Su Shi and Tao Yuanming. In this section, the writer analysed Su Shi' s explanation to Tao' s poetry, also from the points of Confucianism and Taoism.3. The reasons of the establishment about Tao' s classic status. In this section, by combining the historic features, the writer analysed the internal factors why Tao' s classic statuses established in Song dynasty and briefly described the people of Tang dynasty' s reception to Tao' s poetry.
