Zou Tao-fen was a famous journalist and politician in the contemporary history of our country and he was also an outstanding patriot communist. In his lifelong he went through three periods: the late Qing, the Northern Warlords and the National Government in Nanjing .Meanwhile, they were also the periods that China was faced with domestic trouble and foreign invasion, and the society was turbulent. Zou, with the passionately patriotic fervor, published newspapers and periodicals energetically to arouse the masses of the people, rebuked the enemy and the capitulationist. He shouted loudly for national liberation and people' s democracy . He became the beacon for youth to recognize society, think about life and pursue advance. Just as what Zhou Enlai had said "He not only has cultivated the awakening and unity of Chinese people, but also has facilitated the victory of Chinese people with his brush." This essay contains three parts.Part one : The forming course of Zou' s view on democratic politics. Firstly, his earlier life-experience made him have a better understanding to the hardships of the mass and that was the foundation for him to concern about the problems of the people. Secondly, while working. Zou had to analyze the cause that the people had no means of livelihood from the aspect of politics due to the bad social condition. Thirdly, Zou realized that it should depend on the strength of every stratum to win the Anti-Japanese war. So, Zou pointed out that democratic politics must be complemented to stimulate the strength of every stratum to defeat the Japanese imperialism.Part Two: Zou' s thought and comparison to all kinds of democratic politics. Zou had pondered the democracy in England and America , the democracy in the Soviet Union and Sun Yat-sen' s New Three Principles of the People. Zou considered that the capitalist democracy was false, that the socialist democracy was for the people, that the New Three Principles of the People was the mains points of Chinese democracy and the real Republic of China could be founded only if the New Three Principles had been carried out.Part Three: Zou' s own view on democratic politics. After thinking and comparing. Zou put forward to his own view. Of course , due to the historic demand of Anti-Japanese, his view was based on the New Three Principles of the People. Firstly Zou narrated his own view on the democracy in China from three aspects: the organization for public opinion, democratic rights and political parties. Secondly Zou raised his opinion on how to launch democratic politics.Zou's view on democratic politics was put forward in accordance with the needs of the times. His starting point and purpose were all for Anti-Japanese and national construction. So, Zou propagated democracy in newspapers and magazines .meanwhile he advocated people' s rights through his own action. Many young people had been encouraged by him. Zou deserved the title "the Pioneer for democracy in China" absolutely. Zou's view was an exotic flower in the contemporary ideological history of China and that caused us to think about deeply.
