The paper intends to completely display the life of Liang Shiqiu as a writer and evaluate his works from six aspects so that people can objectively and fairly understand him. He kept to new humanism of literature so his works were inharmonious with main styles of literature at that time. He thought the literary developmental perspective lay on the abstention of reasonableness and normality of human nature and reviewed or argued on literature on the basis of such particular conservative view. He blamed new literature during the period of May-4 campaign romantic but disordered and tried to bring it into the orbit of new humanism. He used human nature of literature against class nature of literature, which was essentially a dislocated dialogue. The opinion that literature was irrelevant with fight against Japan's invasion indirectly reflected his literary view of new humanism. Through the course of writing and its main contents of his magnum opus, Yashe Essay, consistency of his style of writing in different periods was perceived. The paper discusses Yashe Essay's aesthetic ideas from leisure, moderation humor and nationalism. In terms of inside and outside conditions and features in common in course of its style coming into being and developing, the paper compared essays of Liang Shiqiu with that of Charles Lamb. In the end, the paper summarizes Liang Shiqiu's position and contribution in the contemporary literature history of China.
