Content: The commodity economy and the changes of rural society in Ch'in and Han Dynasties is the frail links in the research into the history of Chinese ancient economy. This dissertation sticks to dialectical and historical materialism and uses historical documents and archaeological material to study the influences on rural society by commodity economy in different aspects and levels. This dissertation includes six sections. The first one emphatically discusses the relationship of naturalistic economy and commodity economy .The second one mainly expounds the conditions of merchandising production in rural society .The third one discusses the shift of land rights and labor's merchandizing. The fourth one focuses on the expansion of rural markets and peasants' behavior in market exchange. The fifth one stresses on the sharp difference between the wealthy and the poor and the development of the usures's capital. The last one is the transition of social vogue of traditional village. According to detailed historical facts, this dissertation try to set forth the influences on the rural society by commodity economy, whether positive or negative influence, comprehensively analyze and evaluate the well-development level of commodity economy and spirit civilization. Summing up historical experience and serving for the present is the soul of this dissertation.
