This thesis is based on the predecessors' study. It focuses on the fifty-year development of Chinese violin music in the first half of the 20th century. Its purpose is to show the original features of Chinese violin music in that period more clearly and to show the importance of that period in the whole process of the development of Chinese violin music production. Then it contributes to our comprehensively understanding the history of the development of Chinese violin music and is of practical significance to gain the tanorama of contemporary and music history.It is divided into three chapters ten sections. Various research approaches, such as Investigation, Documentation, Comparison, Analytic approach, etc. have been adopted. Major violin music works of that period and relevant historical materials have been consulted. I plan to sort out and study the development of Chinese violin music production in the first half of the 20th century from 3 respects. First: "stages" I'll demonstrate the developing process of violin music and discuss the characteristics of every stage from three historical periods "embryo", "probe", "development". Second: "achievement" I' ll summarize the rich harvest in works production, stylization and form development in this half a century. Third: "characteristics" On the basis of tentatively overall characteristics, I' ll further analyze the uniqueness of the development of Chinese violin music production in this specific historical stage by comparing it with development of the Chinese piano music production and with development of the Japanese violin music production.
