China and Russia are neighbors in geography, therefore there are many cultural exchanges between these two countries since ancient times. Since 1950's, the Rssian Chistiakov's teaching system has had far-reaching influence on fine arts education in China. While appreciating the paintings of Valentin Alexandrovich serov, one of the greatest artists cultivated by the chistiakov's teaching system, I have a strong feeling of familiarity. It is this feeling that urges me to do research on his life and art.Valentin Alexandrovich serov, the most famous artist from 19th century to 20th century in Russia, combined with gift, assiduity and luck, plays a very important role in the history of fine arts in Russian or even in the whole world. Taught strictly by the representative of Itinerant's Repin, he became an important member later, Serov made efforts to outstrip Itinerants bravely and joined actively in "the world of Art Society" Movement Which made him the junction between Itinerant and world of Art Society and a person who worked as media between traditional Russian fine arts and modern fine arts When doing research, the author bears at least two purposes in mind. First, to summarize Serov's successful experience of getting rid of Russian fine arts circle's confusion at that time; second, to take servos as an example, fine out the essences of chistiakov's teaching system and get some inspiration for fine arts education in china. At the beginning of the essay, the author tries to disclose those fundamental factors of art such as inheritable factor, life experience, national temperament and the spirit of era in order to analyze the artist's great spiritual world and have a better understanding of servo's process in the mind. Then, the author starts from serov's paintings and reflects on the painter's spirit and life. In addition, the author attempts to make explanations with the combination of both western and eastern art conceptions to make the essay more original. Through careful study of serov, the author realize: Firstly, faced with completed Russian fine arts circle then serov succeeded with the help of his bravery, wisdom and persistence, and sets a good example for us. We do benefit a lot from appreciating hislife and art. Meanwhile, the author deeply understands that his success has a close relationship with the help of his parents, teachers, other friends and some objective factors. Secondly, as chistiakov's teaching system lasted for such a long time, it has educated many excellent artists. Just like other successful teaching system, it has its own merits. Therefore, we should treat chistiakov's teaching system more fairly and objectively, get the good points and get rid of the bad points while considering the reality in fine arts education faced by our country.
