Deciphering Shen-Congwen's Novels In Ecological Esthetics

In recent years there appearing a new esthetics theory: ecological esthetics, which pursuing the harmony and unity between human beings and nature. In Shen-Congwen's novels, the " world of the Western Hunan " with the "harmony and balance" of the human beings and nature embodies his unique ecological esthetics and ecological thoughts of originating from nature and rooting to nature. It is the very ecological beauty of "harmony and balance of human beings and nature" that he pursues, and what he inherits is just the ancient China's ecological wisdom of "the unity of man and nature". In this article the author puts Shen-Congwen's novels into the whole China modern literature and even the world modern literature fields, and re-surveys and unscrambles them with angle of ecological esthetics view, then to further find the ecological esthetics value and the inspiration and significance in constructing China modern ecology culture.
