Performance is the behavior carrying out for finishing a certain task or upping to a certain goal. It is discovered recently that there is function of predicting on performance in achievement goal orientation. The research has studied relations among achievement goal orientation, achievement motive, self-regulation and performance from different respects. But some questions exist in this kind of research: 1 The result of study is very inconsistent - Some research argue the two are relevant and other show the two are independent; 2It neglects an important linking degree in achievement goal orientation-Social goal orientation; 3 The prediction of performance is incomplete -The prediction and influence of contextual performance are studied less; 4mtermediary's variable is numerous and jumbled instead of unifying -Relevant variables involve the achievement motive, self-regulation tactics, cognitive course of processing, inside motive, outside motive, deep tactics, simple layer of tactics, cognitive tactics, coping strategies, etc.For this reason, the author probes into relations between achievement goal orientation and performance in the educational field in this research. In order to perfect achievement goal orientation theory and carry on measurement to it better, the author joins social goal orientation in measurement to achievement goal orientation. Besides, the author joins contextual performance in measurement to performance, so that the prediction of performance is more intact. On this basis, the author probes into relations among achievement goal orientation, achievement motive and self-regulation tactics and intermediary variable working in the course to performance. The author measures 282 undergraduates and postgraduates (among them the number of boy student is 156; Girl students are 126; science are 105 people; arts are 177 people; master degree candidates are 155; undergraduates are 127; The age is from 18 years old to 38 years old; job service life is from 0 to 15.) by achievement goal orientation questionnaire, achievement motive questionnaire, self-regulation tactics questionnaire and performance questionnaire. Through the analysis to the investigation result, the research draws following conclusions:First, there are differences of graduates' achievement goal orientation, achievement motive, self-regulation tactics and performance due to their gender, major, academic credentials, age and job service life.Secondly, there are close relations among achievement goal orientation, achievement motive, self-regulation tactics and performance.Thirdly, achievement goal orientation influences performance through self-regulation orientation tactics and achievement motive.According to this result of study, the following suggestions are proposed:1. Undergraduates and postgraduates should be encouraged to carry on learning goal orientation and social goal orientation.2. Achievement motive levels of undergraduates and postgraduates should be improved; their ability to use self-regulation tactics should be strengthened; and their performance will be improve with this.3. The attention to contextual performance should be improved, and undergraduates and postgraduates' ability to interpersonal facilitation and job dedication should be trained. Contextual performance is more important than task performance in current society.
