The Study Of Cantonese Loan Words Of Portuguese In Macau

This article consists of seven parts and it aims at the collected materials to achieve in the study of status , features and developing trend of Cantonese loan words of Portuguese in Macau. The present paper adduces some conceptions of constructing and selecting Portuguese loan words and hybrid words, and explores the applications and interactions of multi-language (Chinese, English and Portuguese) in Macau. Emphasis has also been put on the loan-word relations between 3 kinds of language, the pragmaticity of its applications in Macau, the detailed explanation of the meaning of loan-words, the tentative ideas such as analyzing a theoretical framework of selecting new loan words, evaluating the tendency in future.
