Kant, the German classic philosopher, with his brand-new theory of knowledge, unique ethics and aesthetics, becomes a great master of philosophy hi the history of western philosophy. The philosophical thoughts of Kant is broad and profound. But it is credible and not lovable for its concealing in the pedantic, obscure, clumsy and dull expressions, which makes people difficult to understand accurately. This thesis attempts to understand Kant's system of philosophical thoughts through his transcendental self-consciousness.In my opinion,Kant's transcendental self-consciousness embodies the subjective function of mankind in different fields:In the cognition field, the experience is embedded with such factors a priori as the pure forms of time and space and the intellectural categories by the transcendental synthesis of the transcendental self-consciousness,through which the transcendental self-consciousness sets up laws for the nature, and makes knowledge to be universal and necessary. At the same time, the transcendental self-consciousness regulates and guides the acts of intellect with the ideas of reason, which systematizes and maximizes the human's knowledge, and then it pursue the "true". In the field of ethical practice, the transcendental self-consciousness sets up ethical laws a priori for itself,by which it guides the acts of human to realize the "good". In the field of the aesthetics, the transcendental self-consciousness sets up laws for the relation of human and nature with the reflective judgement,by which it achieves the "beauty". The theory of the transcendental self-consciousness is the core of Kant'sphilosophical thougts. Kant's philosophy show its ultimate solicitude for human and the world just with various functions of the transcendental self-consciousness.
