Li Jianwu's Fringe Criticism In The Context Of Modern Realistic Discourse Context

All kinds of the western literary theory had welled up into China around May 4th movement, however, the thriving and prosperous prospect hasn't last for a long tune. The realistic literary criticism having the social-history criticism as the base, which paid close attention to the relationship between the literary and the life and highlighted the practise, occupied the master stream of the literary criticism. The text attempts to analysis how the realistic literary criticism infiltrated into the fringe criticism using Li Jianwu's criticism discourse as the case; from the point of view, which tries to observe the living situation of the fringe criticism under the strong context of the realistic literary criticism discourse. So that, we can make a new describe of the status of the fringe literary criticism in the history of the Chinese modem literary criticism.Li Jianwu's criticism discourse not only has the noticeable characteristic of the impressionism, but also displays his personality criticism characteristic of the familiar essay and the prose giving every effort, from the language, the viewpoint to the style of writing, from the discourse's object, the system of the terminology to the discourse's purpose. In fact, they were the practice of his deep critical theory. Li Jianwu's criticism was the centralized reflect of the fringe criticism's characteristic, such as the jing-pai criticism. The characteristic was obviously different from the precising characteristic of the realistic literary criticism discourse, the fringe criticism's location far from the political center and the fringe criticism's neglect of the conversation toward the realistic literary criticism made the essential conditions for the fringe criticism escaping from the realistic literary criticism. Nevertheless, the realistic literary criticism supplied the big context for the fringe criticism. Therefore, it was very difficult for the fringe criticism to maintain its characteristic. The difficulty came from many sides: firstly, Li Jianwus ' identification of the epoch's accent and the realistic literary criticism's topic; secondly, the fringe criticism paid their attention to the revolution works havingartistic quality; thirdly, the fringe criticism absorbed the Russian literary theory so they involuntarily allowed the critical criterion of the realistic literary criticism; fourthly, the fringe criticism accepted the critical mode of the realistic literary criticism, which was connecting the works with the life and the tunes; fifthly, the fringe criticism's critical purpose wasn't the one-way criticism just like the impression criticism, but the deep purpose shouted for the development of the literature and the social responsibility. These factors resulted in the fringe criticism's approach to the realistic literary criticism.Then, why did the fringe criticism reach agreement with the realistic literary criticism on some degree at last? Here are the two reasons. First of all, the colossal gravity of the realistic literary criticism. The realistic literary criticism had the most practicability in all kinds of the criticism modes, and the characteristic was greatly sticking out in the stern revolutionary times. The next was the fringe critics' intellectuals care complex. The background of the realistic literary criticism made their concerns more conspicuous.hi fact, although the fringe criticism was not located in the center, it still wants being identified by the times. It didn't hope to be deserted by the times because of its peculiar discourse. Therefore, it accepted the influence from the strong context of the realistic literary criticism discourse in order to get into the discourse system of the tunes.
