Cross-Cultural Dialogue--on Cultural Teaching In College English Education

This paper analyzes the history of foreign language teaching.It points out that cultural teaching makes a trend in present and future College English education.According to the achievements of anthropology and linguistics,an inextricable link exists between language and culture.Therefore,this paper maintains that cross-cultural awareness is demanded in foreign language teaching,and it further states that the principle of Cross-cultural Dialogue should be observed in College English education.To actualize this principle in language classroom,the paper analyzes the necessity and practicality of making the principle of Cross-cultural Dialogue as the teaching principle.In addition,this paper offers a specific analysis of this principle through exploring into the teaching process and teaching material in a cultural way.
