Embarrssed And Contradictions: The Status And Image Of Concubine In Song Dynasty

Concubine is a special group in Chinese history.In recent decades,especially after reform and opening up,research of women's history is on the rise,especially the gender relationship and status.In gender relationship,concubine is always at a important position.For thousands years,concubine—as a special group—has a important affected on chinese economic,culture and family,but the research is still not enough,the dispute makes the status of the concubine fuzzy and embarrassed,which conflict the rich achievements of women's history researching.The researching about concubine, can investigate gender status in another perspective—especially the status of women—and the concept about marriage,thus can expand the women's history researching.This paper mainly analyze the literary output in Song Dynasty,the behavior of concubine,and the economic,culture,etc,to performance the psychological origin of concubine,try to show the image of concubine comprehensive.
