The Study On Metaphor Of Ou Dialect

The conception of metaphor which has been mentioned in this article is different from the metaphor in traditional rhetoric. The metaphor, merely as a rhetorical phenomena in traditional rhetoric which is constituted by an noumenon and a vehicle in the form. These two elements, the noumenon and the vehicle, are usually connected by conjunctions like"be","as","become", etc. What's more, this kind of traditional metaphor corresponds to the simile which have similar relations with the noumenon and the vehicle in the form. The metaphor of this article is a iconicity of language expression on the cognitive level and this kind of iconicity is based on the similarity between two different things by using relative specific things to understand abstract things.Dialect is a regional branch of the National Common Language. Ou dialect is the main dialect in Wenzhou area with abundant use of the rhetoric in both written and spoken language. Of all the rhetoric figures, metaphor is the most important and the most unique one. The issue is mainly concentrate upon a more comprehensive study of the metaphor in Ou dialect in aspects from linguistics, pragmatics to cognitive areas. The full text is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction with a brief survey of studies on metaphor and Ou dialect study at home and abroad, also the source of corpus in this article.The second part is to analysis and classification the metaphor in Ou dialect mainly from the linguistic point of view and according to the internal components of metaphor, namely the five components of different combinations and aggregate of the noumenon, the vehicle, the characteristic of the noumenon, the characteristic of the vehicle and the figurative word.The third part gives a brief account of metaphor research on Searle's pragmatic theory , relevance theory and pragmatic principle, and then the discussion focusing on Ou dialect as a deliberate violation of cooperative principle and politeness principle in the process of language communication which come into being the metaphorical phenomenon, further revealed the essence of metaphor comprehension of Ou dialect.From a cognitive point of view, the fourth part gives the simple introduction of stereotypical relation and Event-domain Cognitive Model, and expounded Ou dialect metaphor in the premise of metaphorical thinking, by means of the general features of the relations between two different domain transfer and experience in connection to the realization of basic process.The fifth part is the conclusion of the content above and pointing out the insufficiency of this article.To sum up, this article attempts to reclassify several traditional figures of speech in common usage in the background of Cognitive Study of metaphor, combined with a lot of language corpora in Ou dialect metaphor on to the surface, from the outside to the inside of a comprehensive analysis and discussion, so that people may have a thorough understanding of construction and structure on Ou dialect metaphor. Hope that study on this issue will promote the research of the dialectology, the rhetorics, and the pragmatics further.
