Study Of Pu Songling's Comic Artistry

Taking the comic part of Pu Songling's works as the main researching object, we strive to have a synthetic study on the comic artistry of Pu songling's works in this article. With the reference of the past researches, we used the relevant theories on comedy to explore and analyze the comic artistry in His works, and discussed the arising reasons and the its artistic effect . And on this basis, we commented on His contribution to comic artistry of Chinese.We argue that the using of comic artistry is one of the main features of His works and part of his artistic personality. At present, the researches on the Pu Songling's comic artistry are still relatively weak. There are still exsiting the necessary to researching it for a further step. Through this research, we could find the greater artistic value and artistic charm of his work, and also comic artistry resources of our country could be riched, the leve of comedy creation and appreciation would be raised, the development of literature and culture of China would be promoted.This article is divided into five chapters. In the beginning of chapter I , a definition of of comedy was mentioned. Comedy has two meanings: one refers to an aesthetic category, and another is a form of art. And this article mainly studied the aesthetic category of comedy. Then the achievement of researches on Pu Songling's comic artistry was summarized, the shortcomings and the questions existed were found out and we put forward our research suppositions.In chapter II , mainly through the way of reading the works of Pu Songling and combining aesthetic theory of literary, the performance and features of his comedy was analyzed. We point out that the comic artistry of Pu songling's works mainly focus on language of the works, figure's character, story, the way of description by authors and the"YI SHI SHI YUE"in the end of his articles. And the features of his comedy have two aspects: the depth thought in humor and the broad range of its readers.In chapter III , applying the social and psychological analysis theory ,the arising reasons of the comic artistry of Pu songling's works were discussed .There are four factors : the first is the impact of previous authors; the second is the environment when the author created his works; the third is the author's unique life experiences; the forth is the author's unique artistic personality.In chapter IV, we analyzed the artistic effects of the comic artistry in Pu songling's works by the use of the reception aesthetics theory . Its effects mainly show in three aspects : the interest was raised, the depth of thinking was strengthened, and the works were promoted to spread. And then, the value and impact of the comic artistry in Pu songling's works was assessed.In chapter V, the playing roles of Pu songling in the area of comic artistry were praised . There are three main aspects. Firstly, the object of the description and the content of comedy were broadened; Secondly, the reality of comedy literature was enhanced; Thirdly, the development of Chinese ironic comedy was promoted.The last section is the conclusion of this article-a brief summary of the value and significance of the research about Pu Songling's comic artistry.
