Red Adult Ceremony

From the perspective of characterization, the Chinese red novels in the 20th century are mainly initiation stories. The growth of the red initiation stories, actually, is toward to the growth of proletariat, warrior and hero. But there is a common prototype pattern which is adult ceremony emerged vaguely in most of the red novels. This is just the phenomenon the thesis is about to excavate and track.This thesis includes the following five parts: the first part is introduction. It simply discusses the red initiation stories and the paper's study status and innovation objective. The first three chapters of the body paragraphs comb some basic sections of the adult ceremony in the red novels'characters'growing embodiment: alienate from the original environment, thoughts and emotions, exercise and trial in the blood and fire of class struggle, infiltrate mutually with leader who just like god, then hold adult regeneration ceremony for the character. The fourth part evaluates this growth:although the fusion with the adult ceremony's cultural archetype enables red novels to show massive sense, it leads the red novel's defects to emerge: ignore human's personality, ignore consciousness of people's growing, the time for naming is also for altogether name and nameless.
