| Suzhou Tao Huawu paintings and Japanese genre paintings have years of history in their respective countries .They fully display their respective national folk art and folk tradition. In the process of development, because of historical reasons, Suzhou Tao Huawu paintings have played an important influence to Japanese genre paintings. It absorbed the essence of Tao HuaWu paintings in form, technology, modeling, composition and color. After continuous research and study, together with the unique national qualities, It formed its unique art form. From the aboving, we can find their visible similarities. At the same time, because of different cultural backgrounds and aesthetic appeals , they also have some differences. This paper tries to study the similarities ,differences and finds out the root.The study of art works, especially the folk arts, you can't just see its appearance and shape, but to analysis and study its inner deep organizational structure. This paper mainly studies both history and finds similarities , differences between surface characteristics and inner structure by the comparative method . Through the culture, aesthetic angle to Tao Huawu posters and Japanese genre paintings, we can analyze structural organization anddevelopment characteristics.Using the history,anthropology and semeiology,advocating national and cultural characteristics,we make a deep analysis of its causes,development,evolution and characteristics.Divide into four major sections:Part 1: Go back to history. Find the origins between them through trajectory pursuit. Part 2: Find the common from produce, development and decline periods; The comparison between surface forms and inner features .Part 3: Find the reasons for similarities and differences from national characters, cultural characteristics, spirit.Part 4: Find the modern value of Suzhou Tao Huawu paintings and Japanese genre paintings through the comparison and analysis. We know they play an important role to modern art.
