| Cai Yuanfang is an active novel commentator in Qing Dynasty. The novel he commented named the Records of the States in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, was a much more famous historic novel but for Romance of the Three Kingdoms. And for its comment, academia currently no one have depth study, the author attempts to fill this blank space. This paper take analyzed and summarized the research method, combining from background, content, value of Cai's comment. The article mainly divides into three parts.The first chapter is introduction. It mainly discusses the written, version of the States in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.The second chapter mainly discusses the memoir theory of Cai Yuanfang and the specific requirements. The first quarter mainly discuss the origin, and records and propagation the history, and advised punishing value. In the second quarter, the thesis discuss and summarize the specific requirements of the memoir theory of Cai Yuanfang:the figures basing on history, using popular forms compose of historical facts.The third chapter research on Cai YuanFang,s comment on the figures of Records of the States in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. The first section discusses the think about characterization, including the complexity and brightness of the figures, character, and use open-end language to shape the character in the novel, etc. The second section discusses about the thinking of "history leaded by characters", including the importance of character, the importance of characters,language, importance of talent and the ability of the people, and the importance of the relationship between characters.The forth chapter explain and summarize on Cai YuanFang's structure theory. The first quarter discuss law of the entire layout from traditional "texture" aspect,, including opening layout and foreshadowing, knot acupuncture point method of such narrative. In the second quarter discuss about novel internal art structure wide from modern structure theory, including trickery,loyalty and morality.
