Encourage people to learn is an important part of Xunzi academic system."learning" of Xunzi thought, both in the cultivation of knowledge systems and the value system, but more emphasis on the latter study. The purpose of reading books is not just to memorize the contents of the book, but for the book as a criteria for their actions, consciously moral practice, this is the meaning of learning, so learning should be lifelong.Xunzi believes that heaven and people have their own responsibilities. Heaven is the objective existence of nature, it has its own operating rules, not change because of people's will.The heavens is not the God, and it is not the source of people's moral values. People get nothing from heaven's moral goodness,so people need to learn to get through their own moral righteousness, to distinguish them from animals, improve ourselves, and match with nature. Xunzi consider that the humanity if unchecked, will become evil, so people need to learn to turn evil into good of human nature. People must learning, and people are able to learn. People have sensory organs and heart. Contact with all kinds of sense organs can receive a variety of impressions of things, the heart as a thinking organ to be able to verify the sense impressions, analysis, identification, form of knowledge.Propriety is outside of the norms, it can control human desire.Art also can infect people, to change human nature,so that people achieve harmony. Propriety with art from different aspects have to maintain a balance of society.People need to continue learning,and as good teachers and friends as their object of imitation, so that it can have success.Xunzi also attaches great importance to the environment on human subtle influence, choose a good shelter, good neighbors, to enable people to have good moral character. And Xunzi although does not negate the role of sacrificial spirits, that religious worship can express the feelings of the people.The primary science goal is to complete their own moral self-cultivation, along with the gradual improvement of virtue, the ideal personality to be completed. The ultimate goal is that the human communities by learning to make a harmonious and orderly.
