Xiangyang And Tang Dynasty Poetry

Xiangyang is a place with unique geographical advantage. It locates at an important position in the transportation system with a long history and prosperous culture. Its history, culture, transportation and other aspects provide a lot of materials for the poetic creation and also have impact on the style of poetry of Tang dynasty. The present thesis intends to study a variety of geographical and cultural elements of Xiangyang and thus reveals its influence upon poetry of Tang dynasty. The thesis will consist of the following three aspects:Chapter one mainly studies the influence of history and culture of Xiangyang upon poetry of Tang dynasty. Xiangyang is one of areas with long history in China. Extremely important because the geographical location of Xiangyang, government attached great importance to its ancient building, so in the history of the development of Xiangyang has accumulated a rich culture. The Tang Dynasty, Xiangyang history and culture accepted into the poetry, enriched the Tang poetry.The second chapter concentrates on the relationship between transportation, commerce and poetic culture of Xiangyang. Xangyang is located in the transportation center. The development of transportation accelerates the development of commerce. As a result, economy of the whole city has been greatly improved because of commercial prosperity. Then economic prosperity leads to the development of commercial culture. And economic prosperity led to the development of the entertainment industry, spawned the band's erotic culture, so this former military town a little more xiangyan colors.The third chapter focuses on integration between Meng Haoran and culture of Xiangyang. Meng Haoran is a distinguished poet inspired by culture of Xiangyang. He loves Xiangyang, especially its history, culture. So Meng Haoran has become a part of its culture. He inherited the culture of his hometown ,and blended himself into the Xiangyang culture. His poetry, recluse feelings, life stories, were significant causes of Xiangyang poetry. He had a significant impact to the national poet.
