After Song Dynasity was founded by Liu Yu, the politics of aristocracy was broken. The emperors of southern Dynasties all strived to extend their imperial power or authority and positivly stuck back to the politics of imperial power. The situation that the politics of imperial power and prime co-existed would become history. However, the primes wouldn't easily abandon their power. They strengthened their power by positive political activity. Therefore, the primes came into conflict with the emperors inevitablely.According to the difference of the primes in social class, the essay mainly focuses on the primes that were taken charge by imperial clan, aristocracy and commons. The primes that were taken charge by imperial clan reflected the dependence and utilization of the imperial clan by the emperors of southern Dynasties. However, this kind of dependence and utilization in Song and Qi Dynasities immediately turned into precaution and suspect. The relationship between emperors and primes became extremely tense and not stable. After Liang and Chen Dynasities, the primes that were taken charge by imperial clan mostly accomplished nothing and had a good relationship with the emperors. The primes that were taken charge by aristocracy also continued its tradition from the East Jin Dynasty. But the emperors started to appoint the aristocracy as primes selectively, as well as restrict the primes not to threaten the imperial power. In the transition period of Song and Qi Dynasities, there happened several tense conflicts between imperial power and the primes of aristocracy. After Liang and Chen Dynasities, most primes of aristocracy were willing to serve the imperial power, so the relationship between them became tender. The primes of common showed its tendency of its rise. These commons mostly rose from military exploit, who were appreciated by the emperors and became the prime. In Song and Qi Dynasities, the emperors always take strict precautions against these commons who controlled the military force, which finally made them rebel against the emperors. After the end of Liang Dynasty, the emperors have to be dependent on the prime of commons who controlled the military force because of the frequent war. Their relationship began to be harmonious.Studying the relationship between emperors and primes in southern Dynasties from the difference of social class not only shows the feature in Wei, Jin &southern and northern Dynasties, but also has the convenience to have a good command of the type, performance and influence of the relationship between emperors and primes in this period actively, concretely and comprehensively. On the base, we can understand the politics in southern Dynasties and the changing process of the politics of imperial power.
