| With the increase of interaction between China and Korea, the research conducted qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate the adaptation of Korean students in China, analyzed the factors which affected their adaptation in China, and gave some advice on how to improve their adaptation.The research contained qualitative research and quantitative research. In the qualitative research,10 Korean students in China had been interviewed, asked about the situation of adaptation, the strategy used to adapt, the experience of culture shock, the interaction with Chinese and the life satisfaction. By grounded theory, the research found the factors that affected their adaptation are:motivation, preparation, the ability speaking Chinese, self efficiency, personality, social support, adaptation strategy, and their perception of Chinese, the society and the nature. In the quantitative research,151 Korean students in China completed the questionnaires, which including demography, psychological well being, life satisfaction, socio-cultural adaptation, multicultural personality, social support and Chinese language ability. Using kinds of statistic, the research found that the correlations among psychological well being, life satisfaction and socio-cultural adaptation are strong; the older, the psychological well being is better, the socio-cultural adaptation is worse; their life satisfaction in Shanghai is better than in Guangzhou, their socio-cultural adaptation in Shanghai is significantly better than that in Chengdu, and their socio-cultural adaptation in Beijing is better than that in Shanghai and Chengdu; The more instrumental social support received, the socio-cultural adaptation and life satisfaction is better; emotional stability, culture empathy and openness and flexibility are indicators of psychological adaptation; psychological well being is positive indicator of life satisfaction; Chinese language ability, culture empathy and psychological well being are positive indicators of socio-cultural adaptation. |
