After the establishment of PRC, social address terms changed gradually as the society develops. The general address terms changes from people's favorable "comrade" to "master", which is even more popular afterward, from the more civilized "teacher" to "boss", which is more business-like, and from "sir, madam, miss." that were popular after the reform and open policy to "beauty, handsome" in the market business time. Address terms were diversified by the relationship between the changes of time and social communication needs.Presently, "beauty" and "handsome" are being used in a lot of occasions because of their vivid and praise characters. This thesis studied the service condition of the two words and people's attitude need to be studied carefully.This thesis is divided into three chapters, and elaborated from service condition, acceptance, and social facts that affect the service condition and acceptance of "beauty" and "handsome" respectively.First of all, we investigated the situation of "beauty" and "handsome" through the frequency, target people and location. Second, we studied the situation of acceptance, and analyzed the results from two aspects. Third, the thesis analyzed elements that affect the use and acceptance of the two words mainly from social culture, psychology and other society-related facts, and suggested relative strategy to the generalization of the words.The thesis used the technology of DTC and investigation on internet to reach situation of usage and acceptance. Interview and online research had also been used to understand the two words' service condition, in order to make contribution to people's understanding and use of social address terms.
