The reign of Emperor Kangxi is a golden age of political and economic development in Qing Dynasty. It is also a vigorous period of academic thoughts. During this period, the study on "The Book of Songs" gained a tremendous development under the combined action of the academic tradition in Late Ming Dynasty and the Cultural Policies in Early Qing Dynasty, presenting a magnificent scenery of prosperity. On the one hand, during the constant conflicting and blending between Han Studies and Song Studies, a mixing adoption between the two schools became a prevailing tendency of academy. On the other hand, with the Renaissance in Ming medium term, Han Studies had showed a revival trend while Song Studies had faced a declined doom on the study of "Book of songs". In addition, under the influence of predecessors'theories, the literary interpretation and the research on Mingwu Words in "The Book of Songs" also made great achievement, enriching the content of study and laying the foundation for the prosperity of academics in the reign of Emperors Qianlong & Jiaqing.In Chapterâ… , the author summarized the research situation about the literature of "The Book of Songs" from Late Ming Dynasty to Early Qing Dynasty, which includes the background of policy, economy and culture in the reign of Emperor Kangxi. In Chapterâ…¡, the author reviewed the literature of "The Book of Songs" from Han Studies by the example of Chen qiyuan. In the reign of Emperor Kangxi, Han Studies presented a tendency of recovery and development by the influence of the academy in Late Ming Dynasty. The author focused on the analysis in the characteristics of Han Studies at this period. In the respect of meaning interpretation, the scholars of Han Studies adhered to the principle of "Shi Xu", "Mao Zhuan" and "Zheng Jian", Fixing the blame to Song Studies. In the respect of exegetical studies, the scholars of Han Studies advocated the exact style of study in Han Dynasty. The method and skill of textology in this period made much more development than before, and tended to a more professional and profound direction. In Chapterâ…¢the author reviewed the literature of "The Book of Songs" from Song Studies by examples of Lu Kuixun and others. The author emphasized the decline and transmutation of Song Studies in several respects:First, the scholars of Song Studies in the reign of Emperor Kangxi adhered to Zhu Xi's poetics, and also paid great attention to the theories between Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty. Second, the scholars of Song Studies in this period usually explained views on their own in the name of Zhu Xi's poetics. Third, sometimes the scholars of Song Studies in this period pointed out the mistakes of Zhu Xi's poetics. In Chapterâ…£, the author reviewed the mainstream of the study on "The Book of Songs", that is, a mixing adoption between Han Studies and Song Studies. The author focused on the analysis in the characteristics of this academic school. In this academic school, scholars studied "The Book of Songs" without prejudice. They chose different theories between Han Studies and Song Studies and brought out new ideas sometimes. In Chapter V, the author reviewed the literary interpretation of "The Book of Songs" by examples of Yao jiheng and others. The author put emphasis on the basic characteristics of the literary interpretation of "The Book of Songs" in this period. The scholars commented on "The Book of Songs" with emotion, employed the method of spurt-ponder and explored the art of structure, phonology and image in poems. In ChapterVI, the author reviewed the research on Mingwu Words in "The Book of Songs" by examples of Yao Bing and others. The key point of this chapter is the characteristics of the research on Mingwu Words in "The Book of Songs". In this period, the scholars collected a lot of opinions from predecessors and attached more importance to extology and philosophical connotations, producing profound effects on the prosperity of academics in the reign of Emperors Qianlong & Jiaqing.
